REDDING, California - Opponents of a ban on outdoor marijuana cultivation are holding a forum this evening in Redding.
The Record Searchlight will provide live coverage of the event, scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Six speakers will talk about the ban, which originally was passed by the Shasta County Board of Supervisors. It was put on hold after opponents gathered enough signatures to place it on the ballot.
Sean Donahoe, with the California Cannabis Industry Association; Ellen Komp, deputy director for California’s branch of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws; and Jamie Kerr, co-founder of the 530 Collective in Shasta Lake and a member of the city’s planning commission, will speak. Tyler Terrell and Rick and Mandy Arons also will speak on behalf of Shasta County Citizens Vote No on Measure A.
The forum is at the UPEC Event Center, 1800 Park Marina Drive, in Redding.
